In yogic tradition, kundalini is an energy that sits at the base of the spine. It is described as coiled, like a serpent, and dormant. Rising is what happens when that energy wakes and travels up through the body. It stands for awakening and transformation, the sense of coming into your own strength after a long time of not feeling it.
